Terms of use

Who we are, and what these cover

Tabs & Spaces is made by Proteus AI ("we", "us"). These terms cover:

• the deployment we run at tabsandspaces.app;
• the apps we run for any deployment: the GitHub app and our Google apps, including Gmail;
• the marketplace, our websites, and the support we give.

By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you use them for an organisation, you agree for it, and confirm you may.

If you run Tabs & Spaces yourself, the software's license covers running it, and you're responsible for your deployment and the people on it. These terms still apply to our apps, the marketplace and support when your deployment uses them.

Early access

Tabs & Spaces is young, and our hosted deployment is an early version. Features change, some are labelled beta, and our Google apps are in Google's testing phase (Google asks you to connect again every week). We work to keep everything available and your data safe, but we don't promise any particular availability yet.

Your account and workspaces

• Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if your account is misused.
• You need to be at least 16.
• A workspace's owners and admins decide who's in it and what they can do, and are responsible for how it's used.

Your content

What you and your workspace put in Tabs & Spaces stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it only as needed to run the service for you: for example, to show it to the people you share it with, to send it to the AI model provider when an agent works on it, and to back it up. You can export a workspace at any time. Our privacy policy says how we handle personal data.

You confirm you have the right to put your content in, and that doing so breaks no law or anyone's rights.

Agents

Agents use AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, so check what they give you before you rely on it. Agents act only within what your workspace allows, and anything that changes something outside Tabs & Spaces (sending an email, writing in GitHub) waits for the approval of the person they work for. What you approve is your decision.

Connected accounts and apps

When you connect an account (Google, GitHub or another service), you authorise us to act in it as you, for what you ask, within the access you granted. Those services' own terms still apply to your use of them. You can disconnect at any time.

Apps made by others, and agents that other workspaces publish, are theirs: we review marketplace listings before they're listed, but that isn't a guarantee of how they behave. Read what they ask for before you add them.

Acceptable use

Don't use Tabs & Spaces to:

• break the law, or help someone else break it;
• send spam, or mail people who didn't ask for it;
• harass, threaten or deceive people, or infringe their rights;
• spread malware, or attack, probe or overload our systems or anyone else's;
• get around limits, approvals or security we've put in place;
• resell the service without our agreement.

Publishing in the marketplace

When you publish a listing, you confirm you have the right to, and you let every workspace that adds it use what it contains. We review each version before it's listed, and may decline or remove a listing, for example if it breaks these terms.

Fees

Running Tabs & Spaces yourself is free. Support plans are billed as agreed when you take one, monthly or yearly. If we start charging for anything else, we'll say so clearly before you're charged.

Suspension and ending

You can stop using Tabs & Spaces at any time: export your workspace, then ask us to delete your account or workspace at hello@proteusai.app. We may suspend or end access that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or is required by law; where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.

Warranties and liability

We provide Tabs & Spaces as it is and as available, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or €100 if that's more. Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email before a change that matters to you takes effect. If you keep using Tabs & Spaces after that, you accept the new terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and disputes go to the competent courts of the Netherlands. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the law and courts of the country where you live.
